Welcome to FALCOPOLIS — the largest raptor wintering roost site on Planet Earth recently discovered by Hungarian scientists in Angola and featured also in the National Geographic Magazine.
This unique place hosts up to 1 million migratory falcons each year.
The habitat degradation and illegal hunting endangers the total world population of the Red-footed falcons and forces urgent action.
Through volunteer programs, eco-adventures, and community initiatives, we empower people to become protectors of the natural world.

At FALCOPOLIS our mission is to protect and conserve the endangered Red-footed falcon through dedicated research, habitat restoration, and community engagement. We strive to secure a future for this magnificent species by combining scientific conservation efforts with the power of education, ecotourism, and volunteer action. By fostering sustainable ecotourism, we aim to connect people from around the world with the beauty of the Red-footed falcon and its natural habitat, inspiring a deeper appreciation and commitment to conservation. Every visitor, supporter, and volunteer help us build a stronger, more resilient environment where both wildlife and local communities can thrive. This is more than just conservation. This is a movement. And we invite YOU to be part of it!
Through my 2009 thesis on Red-footed falcon conservation, I worked closely with the team. With their support, I conducted nest monitoring and bird ringing, participated in radio telemetry fieldwork, and analyzed food samples from nests. The experience was deeply enriching, thanks to the team’s professionalism, knowledge, and inspiring passion for nature.
